Its about time...

Its already November? I swear, it seems like this whole semester just flew by without me even knowing. I think its because I literally live in the Grad lab and once you step inside your perceptions of time become distorted. So, heres whats new:

1.) After lots of discussion and consideration Josh and I have decided to buy a house rather than rent. After we made the decision I initially lost a lot of sleep, laying awake at night worrying. I feel a lot better about it now though. We are flying down to Peoria Nov. 10-12 to house hunt, and we've been working with a realtor for several weeks now developing a list of homes to view. Wish us luck!

2.) After we get home from house hunting on Sunday I will be in town until Friday morning, when I leave for San Antonio for a conference. I'll be gone the 17th-21st. When I get back it'll already be Thanksgiving! I've never been to Texas, so hopefully it'll be fun! There are four grad students going as well as four or five school of business faculty. Tonya and I have every intention of skipping out on the conference a time or two to go shopping and sightseeing. :) Also, the hotel we are staying it is AWESOME! :) Its right on the riverfront and located in a very exciting part of the city. :) I wish Josh was coming though...unfortunately, he'll be here in Houghton/Hancock working.

3.) Josh and I went to a wedding last weekend in Tomah, WI. his fraternity brother Luke Haun got married to his high school sweetheart Heather. The wedding was beautiful and I can't even begin to imagine how much they spent on the whole day - we had an absolute blast! The picture is of me, benny b, and megan at the reception. I forgot to grab my camera, so I don't have any pictures of me and Josh. Bummer.

4.) Josh and I found time this week carve only 1 of our 3 pumpkins for Halloween. I think we are going to carve the other two for Thanksgiving. I figure, why not? Pumpkins are just as much a Thanksgiving/Fall thing as a Halloween thing. I think I'll do a turkey and a "Give Thanks". I'm a pretty good punky carver thanks to my dad. He's a master at it and taught me when I was young. I remember when I was a kid we would always have like a dozen carved punkys, and they were all awesome - like witches and goblins and scary stuff. Blogger is being difficult and wont let me post a picture. :(

5.) My engagement ring doesnt fit anymore. I've lost 10 pounds and now it slides all over my finger, flips upside down constantly and could slip right off if I am not careful. He bought it at Helzberg, and unfortunately there isnt one around here...they said I could send it in through the mail, they would resize it and then mail it back to me...total time without my ring - 4-5 weeks. Yeah freakin right. I'll figure something else out for sure - I'll wrap yarn around the damn thing if it comes down to it until we get to Peoria.

Thats all I can think of right now, but I know there is more. Oh well, off to my second home....the grad lab.
