We Did It!

Our trip to Peoria this weekend was a sucess! We found two homes that we loved, and eventually decided on an all brick ranch in the historic homes district (almost all of our neighbors are big mansions like the alph gam house, only wealthy families live in them - there is a tiny cul-de-sac off of it with 6 homes, where our house is). It has 2 fireplaces, an AMAZING kitchen, 2 bedrooms and hardwood floors in the living room, dining room, and bedrooms. The lady who owned it was a little crazy and wasnt being represented by a realtor, and through a odd chain of events, she told our relator her life story while we were viewing her house for the second time on Saturday. Well, part of that story is the fact that if she doesnt sell the home by Wednesday when she meets with a lawyer, she has no choice but to sign the bankruptcy papers. Anyway, the house was listed at $100K, wew made an offer of $82K, and she accepted within an hour! And tada, were homeowners! :) I can't wait to move in!

Congrats! I remember how cheap housing was in Peoria - when I was looking at houses there I could have bought a HUGE house for what I payed for my house in Novi! Welcome to the debt-up-to-our-ears club! :)

Wow, great house. You guys are so lucky.

A house like that in Madison would have been $200K, easily. :)

Yeah, the lady that lives there now is definately odd, and has the house decorated (or should I say cluttered) very differently than I plan on having it!!!
