Goals

I need some - both personally and professionally. I think to myself often, I should/want to/might try to do ____________. And then I eventually forget, or get discouraged, or make an excuse. I think writing things down and then posting it might motivate me. At the end of this month I have a meeting with my boss to formally write my SMART goals for the rest of the year, and thats great, but they are going to be things that pertain to my current job, which I don't want to have forever. So, I need a list of personal professional goals as well - like classes offered through Cat and whatnot so that after awhile I can get promoted or at least do a sideways move or take on more responsibility. As far as personal goals, theres tons I'd love to do - such as write a book, and drop 25 pounds. I need them in a list and then I need to commit to them.

I guess the major adjustment from college that I am struggling with is timelines. For the first time in my life, there is no end of the semester when things all wrap up nicely and then you get a break before begining fresh. I don't want to look back in three or four years and realize with regret that I have done a tremendous amount of nothing.

I would also like to drop a few pounds (okay - a lot!). Maybe this summer we can plan Saturday morning walks along the river or on a trail somewhere? I love going on walks - especially "outdoorsey" places; not just around the block.

We have to write goals for Dow also. A few I can think of are anything for leadership, maybe a safety goal. Also anything that corresponds to short-term company goals.
Personal goals, I think you'll do really well. I can't get myself to clean more than the kitchen when I have a week off. Good luck!!
