Good: Today I sent out my sisters birthday card and gift - another small task dropped off the list. Also, a few days ago I went to a website I had seen advertised on a local channel where each Thursday at 8 am they post a limited number of gift certificates for area restaurants - the deal is you pay $25 and get a $50 gift certificate. So I put a reminder on my calendar and checked it out this morning - I'm so glad that I did. I got $100 worth of Panera Bread gift certificates for $50 and I got $150 worth from a very pricey upscale restaurant in Bloomington for $75! I'm pumped about these, and our trip to Chicago tomorrow! :)
Bad: We have some large trees in our yard that need attention desperately. Theres two that need to come down, one that needs an enormous limb taken off because its hanging dangerous over our house and would crush it if it ever fell (we get very high winds there) and all the rest have limbs growing out of control and need to be thinned out. Additionally, the front and sides of our house have huge, square, overgrown evergreen bushes - 20 in all. They all need to be removed because they weren't taken care of and got way too big. We would do that part ourselves, but we dont have a truck, so hauling them away would be impossible and digging up the root systems of these suckers would take weeks of backbreaking work. We got an estimate to get it all done - $775 for the trees and $400 for the bushes for a grand total of $1,175. Ugh. Its not like we can't afford it, its just a bummer to have to spend money on junk like that instead of putting it towards our student loans or the wedding (or the P@lm Treo I've been drooling over). Oh well, thats what being a grown up is about I suppose.
Unfair: I've noticed that Josh has been dropping some weight lately (which he doesnt need to) so I've been encouranging him to eat a bigger variety of foods, to eat foods that I can't (because I, on the other hand, need to lose weight) and to add more dairy and fat into diet. He refused to catch on to my hinting that he was getting skinny. So finally last night I finally told him that he is too thin and its time to make a change (if only I had this problem). Not totally believing me he got on the scale, and, to his own horror, has dropped darn close to 20 pounds. The point of this story - It has taken a lot of hard work and willpower for me to drop 9 pounds over the last 11 weeks. He has dropped 20 without even trying. This makes me want to vomit and its just flat out unfair.
I hope you all have a great Easter weekend!

That is beyond unfair... I just weighed in on Saturday and have finally lost the 20 pounds that I wanted to lose when I started (August of last year...) He should write a book on how to lose 20 pounds without trying :)
Boys suck! My brother has the same affliction. Must be rough.
