How Long Can Something Stay 'New'?

In the case of the Corolla, approximately 6.5 months. On Saturday I was on my way the farmers market, stopped at a light when an Isuzu Trooper driven by a 19 year old guy slammed into me from behind, causing my car to bounce off of the truck minding his own business in front of me. Bummer. I'm just glad I'm fine, aside from a sore arm - I saw him coming in my rear-view mirror and held on for dear life. The car certainly needs a new rear bumper but other than that, it seems okay. I still have to file it with my insurance company. Thankfully, Illinois is a fault state, so I wont even have to pay my deductible. The only thing I'll be out is the time it takes to go get estimates, get it fixed, and of course, now that its been damaged, I don't really have a 'new' car, anymore. Oh well, nothing lasts forever. :)

Other than that excitement it was nice to spend a weekend at home, finally! On Friday we went to the Heart of Illinois Fair with Melissa and Justin & Sandy and Adam. We mostly just walked around, drank the sugary, delicious fresh lemonade, and saw a very cute elephant show. It was fun. Saturday Miss Madison came over. She is teething and generally only happy when 1.) she is being held or 2.) she is in the stroller and it is moving. Boy did we walk, and walk, and walk. I got quite a bit of sun on my shoulders and face and it was nice to enjoy the neighborhood. On Sunday I cleaned the house while Josh cut and laid boards in the attic (which was as hot as a sauna!) and reorganized everything from the installation. Then I worked on our scrapbook for awhile, we went to dance class where we learned the waltz - which was a riot and then relaxed for the remainder of the night. I hope everybody had a great weekend!
