T Minus 4 Days

I can't believe that I'm getting married in four days. When I think back on the past year it seems like time went both slow and incredibly fast at the same time. It amazes me how quickly we transitioned form 'the wedding is a few months away' to the 'wedding is a few weeks away' to 'holy crap, its this week'! Had I not realized that the wedding was so close by the level of anxiousness/nervousness/excitement that I'm feeling my bank account balance (which is hovering slightly above zero...seriously) would surely be an indication. Good thing we get paid on Friday. I can't wait to leave for Michigan tomorrow. I'm rolling out of work at about 1:45 (thanks to my awesome boss) and we should be on the road by 2:30 central time. Thursday and Friday will be filled with everything from getting our marraige license to nail appointments and the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner.

When I went to pick up my dress on Saturday it still didn't fit - the seamstress didnt take it in enough in the bust and overdid it a little around my ribs. I almost freaked out because it serioulsy felt like a beaded straight jacket. Thankfully, when I went to try it on again yesterday it fit perfectly...after a minor incident in which they couldn't actually find my dress for about 15 minutes. Other than that, things are going well. The weather is supposed to be absolutely perfect on Saturday - about 80 degrees and sunny! I've been able to sleep lately, and I *think* I've gotten just about everything done that I can aside from packing out clothes and stuff, which I'll do tonight.

It still seems sureal that its only 4 days away...

The best advice I got for my wedding day:

No matter what happens, you will still end up married and the day is about the two of you. Nothing goes 100% perfectly, but it will be beautiful and you will love every minute of it! Enjoy it, and remember, you will be married no matter what else happens!

I am seriously glad that we were told those words since despite my over-anal planning I forgot to buy a cake-topper and my MIL didn't speak one word to me. It didn't matter. The 200 people who loved us most were in one room, and it was such a wonderful day!

Good luck, and I can't wait to see pictures!
