So Katie, whats new?
Hmmm...lets see...Josh and I have been busy shopping, wrapping, and getting ready to leave for the UP tomorrow. I'm so excited for everybody to open their gifts on Christmas - I think I managed to find everybody the 'perfect something'! A few family members already ripped open the gifts we mailed to them (hard cover books we made on Shutterfly of our wedding) and we are happy to hear that they love them (ahem...KELL!).
How's work?
Slow. The number of people left in my office trickles lower and lower every day. Tomorrow there will only be six of us here. I'm blowing out of here at about noon, though, so that we can get on the road.
How are the home improvement projects coming along?
They have hit a major road block which goes by the name of unmotivated. We still have some wallpaper to get down before we can start painting, but at least the wall removal project is all done and looks fabulous.
How are things with your sister?
Looking up. Shes doing well in rehab, is passing all of her random drug tests, and sounds upbeat and positive when we talk on the phone. We should find out today if she will be able to come home for Christmas, at least for a few hours. She 'graduates' on the 28th and things are really unknown after that. We're just trying to make it through the holidays and we'll figure it out from there. She is dealing with a lot of things from her childhood that just recently came to light. I can't talk freely about anything during the investigation, and sadly, my family isn't the only one involved. I've been reading a lot about childhood victimization and its lasting impacts and ramifications and it has helped me to understand a lot about my sisters addiction and self-esteem issues.
What are your plans for the holiday break?
Nothing, really, and that is wonderful! :) We are bringing the Wii, lots of good books and movies and plan to just veg out. We'll be gone about a week and I can't wait!
Whats on the agenda until you leave for the UP?
Tonight were babysitting Justin! :) Rob & Melissa have Rob's holiday work party so we get to hang out with J. Love, love, love, that kid!
Any plans for New Years Eve?
Nothing set in stone just yet. Rob & Melissa mentioned doing something, as did Britta. Haven't really even thought about it, though! Whatever we do, it will be more exciting than last year, which we spend peeling wallpaper in our bathroom. Talk about exciting. Haha.
Anything else you'd like to add?
I got my hair cut on Tuesday and I now have side bangs. Love them. :)
