Our Holiday Break

Honestly, it could have gone better. Why you ask? Long stories short,
1.) I had a complete falling out with my family, mostly over my sister and
2.) The day after Christmas Josh and I were headed to MQT to do some after Christmas sale shopping when we came upon the most horrendous car accident I have ever seen. A minivan (which turns out was being driving by my mom’s next door neighbor) had crossed the centerline and hit a fuel tanker. The minivan virtually exploded and my neighbor was killed instantly. We arrived at the scene about a minute after the accident actually occurred – long before any medical personnel or the police arrived. And while Josh was a little too upset/freaked out at first, I jumped out of the car to help. There was nothing that could be done, though. Thankfully, my neighbor didn’t have any passengers with him in his vehicle and the driver of the tanker wasn’t seriously injured. It is definitely a scene that will haunt me for the rest of my life, though.

Josh and I got home on Saturday evening, which felt like such a relief. And, for the next three days, we did just about nothing outside of the house aside from grocery shopping. We were going to spend New Years Eve with Rob, Melissa and Justin but that didn’t work out with having to bring J to Michigan for his Las Vegas trip. So, we just spent a quiet night at home, made dinner and had a fire, which was nice, since the last week had been so high strung and high stress. Now we’re back to work, which is hard! Thank goodness its only a 3 day week!
