The Story of the Mini Robbery

Last night our house got robbed. Well, our garage to be exact. No big deal really, all they took was our tools and our portable car jumper. We didn't realize until tonight, though. Here's a quick and dirty version of what happened:

Tuesday night 10 pm: Josh closes garage door down for the night and notices a brown cardboard shipping box on the floor. Thinks, 'Katie must have bought something online and put the box out there because garbage day is coming'. Goes to bed.

Wednesday 7:15 am: While leaving for work Josh notices a junky black glove that does not belong to us just inside our garage door. Thinks nothing. Goes to work.

Wednesday 7:25 am: While leaving for work Katie notices aforementioned box. Recognizes box as one that lives on the top shelf of the garage (next to the portable car jumps home). Thinks, 'Hmmm, wonder how that fell'. Throws box to the side. Notices the black yucky glove on the ground, picks it up and throws it on the shelf for later disposal. Thinks, 'Where did this piece of crap come from'? Goes to work.

Wednesday 6 pm: Josh goes into garage to get a tool but the tool box is not where it lives on the shelf. Hmmmm. Katie and Josh look high and low for the toolbox, but alas, it no longer lives at our house. Neither does the portable jumper. Sad day.

Wednesday 8:30 pm: Nothing else appears to be missing and thankfully whoever robbed us didn't get away with much (which is why I am calling it the mini robbery), so there is a bright side. Its more of a pain in the butt than anything - having to replace all the tools and not having the value be worth claiming it on our homeowners insurance. I guess the only creepy part is that we were home when it happened and had absolutely no idea.

Live and learn, I guess.

I like the 'new' layout! - (I realize it could not be new since I haven't had time to catch up on my blogs in over a month...) and sorry to hear about the robbery! My rental car was broken into over a month ago, and I'm still dealing with paper work. so annoying!

Scary.....we had some theifs do the garage stealing thing as well. I don't think they came into our neighborhood, but we received an e-mail warning us. I am very anal about always having our alarm on at night just in case.
