Long Overdue Update

It’s been forever since I last updated! Nothing is wrong, so no worries there...time just got away from me. So here’s what’s new lately:

*MLK weekend Josh and I undertook a major painting project. We painted the living room, dining room, hall, kitchen, and kitchen cabinets. We also replaced all of the switches, outlets, the light fixture in the kitchen, and the cabinet hardware. Whew! What a job! It looks great, though. Pictures soon, I promise.

*My dad came to visit last weekend. We had beautiful weather and it was so nice to spend a few days with him and Jeanette. They left Monday morning, headed for Tucson.

*For about a week Josh and I considered buying a house just down the street from ours and turning this place into a rental. The other house just needed to much work (new windows, new flooring throughout, etc, etc) and with the market behaving as it is, we decided that it would be best for us to err on the side of risk aversion and not take on the second home. Plus, the work involved in being a landlord is substantial, and the economic and tax benefits just weren't there.

*Josh turned the big 2-5. :) That means our auto insurance premium went down. Hurray!

*It snowed about 6 inches here overnight. Everything is closed down. I haven’t decided if I am going to try to make it into the office or am just going to spend the day working from home.

*Last night we went to a Peoria Rivermen game with Rob & Melissa. The Rivermen won, but there were no fights. We had a great time, though. We'll see them again on Saturday to hang out. :)

*I have a pub crawl with my work group tonight. I really don’t want to go. I love the people I work with, but I'm just not so into the idea of going on a pub crawl with them. My tolerance isn't what it used to be, and the potential professional ramifications of excessive drinking with my boss and coworkers isn't anything I want to deal with. Still thinking of how I can get out of going without looking like lame...any suggestions?

Go to the Pub Crawl, but tell them you'd rather not spend the calories on alcohol - drinking Diet Coke can be just as fun :)
