Weekend Recap & New Coupon

Not a whole lot is new on our end, so I’ll recap the weekend.

Friday: Went out to dinner at Olive Garden and then went to see Ring of Fire, a Broadway musical on tour that made a stop in Peoria. I got the tickets for Josh for his birthday since he’s a Johnny Cash fan. It was a really good show!

Saturday: Josh put up a new shelf in my closet to replace the yucky one that was there while I went out to lunch with Stephanie and went grocery shopping. When I got home we put all the stuff back in my closet and were amazed at how much more space I have with a wider shelf! Then we headed over to Rob & Melissa’s to babysit Justin while they went out with Rob’s brother and his girlfriend. We had fun playing with Justin, but were reminded why we don’t want kids just yet when AFTER his bath we had to change a stinky diaper.

Sunday: Went to pick out our new mattress to replace the one we currently have. We just got it a year and a half ago and we bought the $80 mattress cover that includes a 10 year stain and wear warranty. Well, the mattress got stained, so we filed a claim and got approved for a full replacement. The approval took some serious work and strong arming the company, which are apparently known for being jerks, but it all worked out. We had to purchase another mattress cover for $80, but we have a brand new mattress and ten year warranty out of the deal. After we finished up with that we went to lunch at BWW and then spend the rest of the day watching a Jon & Kate Plus 8 marathon in bed. It was fabulous.

As a side note, I bought a box of that Honey Bunches of Oats cereal with the $2.00 off coupon. The cereal was $2.24 at W@l-Mart so it only cost $.24! And it’s good!
