The Move

This weekend, it seemed like just about nothing went right, or happened on time. The low points include me getting a speeding ticket on Friday, putting two fairly long, deep scratches in our new hardwood floors, and as always, not getting nearly as much done as we had hoped. The speeding ticket really burns me, too, because I thought the speed limit going out of Metamora was 55. Nope – its 45, so I got a ticket for 63 in a 45. Thankfully, I got a county ticket so it’s not reported to the state, and my insurance won’t find out. Too bad it is still going to cost me $75! I won’t be making that mistake again. Also, we have a pretty long list of things that are either broken or need fixing on the house. That list includes:

*3 Scratches on the hardwood floor - one in the hallway, one in the dining room, and another in the living room. (Luckily we there was already one big scratch before we moved in so we passed the other two off with this one and are getting them fixed for free!)
*Master Bath Shower: The pipe that comes out of the wall for the shower head is leaking.
*2nd First floor bath: Leaking where tub faucet exits the wall.
*Dishwasher NOT WORKING. It doesn't seem to recognize that the door is latched/closed and wont start up because of it.
*Sliding screen door on patio needs to be fixed. It is immobile and the molding is off.
*2 nicks in the upstairs tubs still need to be repaired.
*The pipe coming out of the sump pump leaks.
*Issues with paint.
*Where the carpet in the upstairs bedrooms meets the doorways the tack strip is VERY sharp and poking through the carpet.

But on the bright side, we’re moved in. And since we won’t have cable or internet for another week we wont have any distractions - so we should have the house whipped into shape by this weekend! My biggest dilemma now – without cable, how will I watch Grey’s and Ugly Betty on Thursday night?!

The best way to watch your thursday night shows if you miss them is to watch them on the internet when you get the internet hooked up!! I don't even currently have a tv and that is how I am keeping up on my greys and lost addictions

I have an even better idea - head about 5 miles down Rte 116 and we can have an abc tv night :) I can make a couple of snacks; maybe a bottle of wine....how about it???
