My family isn't doing Christmas this year. My mom has to work, and it just wont be the same without my dad, anyway. Honestly, I don't really care so much about the holidays anymore anyway. I probably will again someday, after we have kids. But for now, not so much. Its more of a pain in the butt than anything - all the planning, gift buying, traveling, hustle and bustle, etc. I don't mean to sound like a scrooge, but it just isn't a big deal for Josh or I. So, I want to go somewhere warm and spend Christmas morning on a tropical beach. So far, all of the flights I've look at are outrageous. Hopefully I can find something. I'm open to Mexico, the Bahamas, the Caribbean, and Florida. Any suggestions?

I have been to Sandals in Jamaice (Dunn's River and Whitehouse) and it is an amazing couples vacation!! I would recommend going all inclusive wherever you go!!
I heard from both Stephie, and a friend of JR's who went to Sandal's recently that it's awesome.
I'll keep my eyes open for other flight/tropical distination deals though.
My mom has to work one or two of the holidays every year, too. She always has. We've just gotten used to celebrating the week before, or the day after, or whenever we can all do it.
Christmas is definitely overrated! It has turned into a retail holiday now anyways.
I would not recommend Cancun (at least not the Elan Resort) unless your looking to lose weight! I went there earlier this summer which resulted in me being sick for a week and a half! I've never been so sick like that in my life. My family went to the Dominican Republic, Punta Cana, for new years one year and it was great. We stayed at the Iberostar.
Otherwise what about Arizona or somewhere like that? My family lives there so we were there for Christmas two years ago and it was great.
Or what about coming to Michigan to be w/Josh's family for Christmas...we've all got furnaces that'll keep you warm!!!
Its about the family times too!!!
I LOVE sandals dunns river! Totally would recommend it to anyone!
We really liked Aruba :)
Whatever you do, think about starting a tradition between just the two of you that you can continue once you have kids. I'm excited for Gerald to be able to participate in the traditions that J and I have, and to create new ones just for him.
