Selling

My mom is selling her house and moving into a townhouse in Marquette - a move I've been encouraging her to make for a few years, now. It's just too much work for her to be taking care of the house, the lawn, the snow removal. Even though my parents were divorced, they remained friends, and my dad was always there for my mom, helping her with the house, etc. Now that another winter is just around the corner in the UP, she's feeling overwhelmed without him. It will be so much better for her to not be on the roads 45 miles one way to work, and be closer to the 'necessities' - Wa1mart, Doctors Offices, etc. There are so many positives, but it's still hard to be losing the house that we grew up in, when we've seen so much loss this year already. 2008 has been pretty rough for me and my family, so I'm looking forward to 2009 - it can only get better from here.

I know what you mean, I had a hard time when my mom sold the house we grew up in. I still drive by it once in a while when I'm home.

I also just wanted to say how great I think it is that your parents were able to remain friends after getting divorced and still help eachother out. I think that says a ton about both of their characters:)
