Oh the life on an intern....

Work at Cat Logistics is good so far - I like my two group members, Adam and Devin a lot - we have a lot of fun in our four person cubie, which we have decided we should turn into a fort. So far we've spent a lot of time on hold with the help desk trouble shooting and making plans for total Cat domination. So far, our project is good - we are desgining and implementing a system to get all of Cat's 12,000 suppliers online, so that shipping instructions can be given and processed online instead of through paper copies. Its a huge task for only 12 weeks, especially since we have to contact each individual supplier by phone, update all of their info, and get them on board and set up with the program, most often with outdated information. Our supervisor, Bob (who is a pretty hip old guy), told us that our job is going to be pretty much to just piss off all of the suppliers, haha. Other than that, I joined RiverPlex, which is the coolest gym. I met up with Kelly (a tech alph gam interning at Cat as well) and we finished up our workouts together by walking a mile on the track. Overall, a good day. Tomorrow Adam, Devin, and I will be learning the Host system ALL DAY, which is going to be pretty tedious and awful, but hopefully after tomorrow we'll have a grasp of it and that will be the end of that training. We have to very proficient at it though, since it's the program that we're using for all the data input and retrieval for our project. On Saturday I am getting up SUPER early and meeting Josh halfway between Houghton and Peoria in Oshkosh, WI to go camping. We'll stay Saturday and Sunday, and leave Monday afternoon. It'll be good to see him, since I miss him like crazy. After this weekend it'll probably be a few weeks until the next time I see him again, so I'm really looking forward to it. I checked the weather and its supposed to be good, so hopefully that holds out, or we'll just be camping in the rain. We'll make the best of it though, we always do. It never seems to matter what Josh and I are doing anyway, as long as were together we always have fun. :)
