A Look Back at 2007

We moved into our new house and started at Cat. Gosh did I ever hate it here in Peoria – I hated our house, my job, being away from home, etc. For weeks I would seriously come home from work every day, lie in bed, and cry.

I found out that all the crazy symptoms I was having were all related to my hypothyroidism. Though I still have trouble some days remembering to take my pill, my health and sanity has improved 100%!

Sometime during the year our house became a home. We can’t really put a finger on just when the transformation took place, but it was a nice feeling.

We got married! And went on our honeymoon!

Though I have always been mildly lactose intolerant, this year it got out of control. I’ve finally made the transition to Soy Milk, and although it just isn’t the same as regular milk, it’s okay for cereal, etc. I’ve also been *trying * to limit my cheese and other dairy intake. Cheese is the hardest!

Josh got his new truck, which he l-o-v-e-s!

In August I moved groups at work and have been much happier and productive since. What a good feeling it is to like your job (though I still don’t love what I’m doing) and the people you work with!

We have done a ton of work on our house! It sure has come a long way in the past year! We’ve still got some major projects in the works, but by this fall we should see the house pretty much where we want it to be.

We have learned a lot about home repair/maintenance. Everything from plumbing, to hot water heater repair, to putting in a new furnace (on this one, we were smart enough to just pay somebody to do it) and fixing the garage door has been learned.

We thought about selling our house, and then thought better of it. Same goes for doing a total gut and remodel of our kitchen.

I know there is tons more, but at the moment, I just can’t think of what they are. Overall, though, 2007 was a good year and we’re looking forward to an even better 2008.
