It’s been two weeks today. Most days, life still feels pretty overwhelming, but I am starting to learn to hide it more effectively. I think Josh is starting to get tired of hearing me say, “I miss my Dad”, so I’ve been keeping it to myself as much as possible. Really all I want to do is go home, crawl in bed, and cry – but I am here at work, fighting back tears, trying (unsuccessfully) to be productive.
This weekend was good, though. On Friday we went to dinner and Old Settlers Days in Metamora with Rob, Melissa, and Justin. On Saturday we headed into Peoria to check on the rental house and run some errands, than I took a nap while Josh watched TV, and we spent the rest of the night just hanging out. We watched D@n in Re@l Life – super cute and funny movie! On Sunday Josh mowed while I cleaned inside. Then we made lunch, took a nap, and went to Splashdown Water Park with The Brooks. It was nice to get out of the house. I don’t think Josh was really excited about going when it meant he had to get up from his nap, but after we got there he had a lot of fun. I wanted to go because laying in bed feeling bad for myself isn’t exactly a healthy way to spend a Sunday afternoon – and I can’t hide from life forever.
This week we’ve got softball on Wednesday night, but other than that we haven’t got any plans. I’m kind of glad…I feel really tired and run down lately, so I think I am going to try to catch up on some more sleep this week. On a high note, though, the last few nights I’ve been able to sleep through the night without sleep aids – a small step, but a step.
