Times, they are a changin'...

Our lives are not as simple as they used to be.
When I think back on my life through the years, I can’t help but be amazed at how things have changed.
Instead of vodka, I buy vacuums.
I've gone from fraternity parties, to quiet nights in.
I drink wine from glasses, instead of bonging beers.
Going out to dinner no longer consists of the McDonalds drive through.
My definition of planning ahead has gone from making plans for the coming weekend, to choosing a city in which to live.
I get up early on weekends to clean the house, instead of sleeping in because I am hung over.
My opinions have gotten stronger.
I worry about loans, money, the future and making a life for myself...and while winning the race would be great, right now I'd just like to be a contender!
I get excited about planting flowers, not parties.
I cook dinner, instead of ordering a pizza.
Interesting stories don’t originate at the bar, but on the nightly news.
And the funny thing is, is that the changes didnt happen over night.
In fact, they crept up on me so slowly, that I didn't even realize they were happening.
But I'm happy that they did.

Ahhh-your previous post is similar to drama I'm going through. JR's mom want's to invite 117 people including her boss and his family to our wedding which we (along with MY parents) are paying for. Our guest list right now (if we add those 117)is at 365, and the reception hall holds 280. So you can see the issue.

But what I've learned is that if you are paying, it is YOUR wedding. If you piss off your future in-laws, so be it, but it's your day, not theirs. I know it's not fun, but I would stick to your guns. I agree with Alanna too, if they want a GR celebration after the cruise, they can plan and pay for it.

If you give in to the in laws now, it just sets the pace for things down the road. I've learned that the hard way!
